FM DX tunearound, July 30 at 1710 UT: immediately hear Spanish on
88.1, then ``920 AM ... kalientí ... Celaya ... la que manda`` -- so

no Celayans or even Guanajuatans on 94.1; closest to there by G.C.
would maybe be in Hidalgo, CDMX. On 94.1 and many other frequencies,
constant battle among OK and KS fringe signals on a turbulent
100-degree day. Quit at 1737 for lunch; another try at 1834-1840 nets

-- is Judgment Day nigh, or the End of the World? Crime is peaking.
Only a few letters this week, mostly from the regulars, but devotes
considerable time to some of them.

First from someone in ``Letonia``, different name than the usual

** BOLIVIA. At 0415 July 28 I have JBA music on 6145, S7/S9 direct,
about equal to storm noise level, certainly something new. Per Aoki
the only other 6145 during our night hours is PBS Qinghai, China,
could be a problem before sunrise. And at final recheck 0616, I still
have a JBA carrier direct on 6145. This hot news came from RRR at 0255
UT July 28:

``Thanks to the information from a Cuban DXer and friend José Ibrahim
Pose, I was alerted at 0150 UTC about signal on 6145 kHz with Spanish
program Viva la Vida.

At 0203 ID as Radio Betania, followed by TC: "Son las 22 horas" jingle
and the announcement: "esta emisora está regulada y fiscalizada por la
ATT"  ATT (Bolivia's telecommunications control agency).

In a quick search I found that Radio Betania operates on 93.7 MHz and
its online signal coincides with the shortwave signal.

The Bolivian station that operated on this frequency was Radio Juan
XXIII from San Ignacio de Velasco, but there is no online signal for
this station, but I found this information from a communications
service provider where last March they published information about

``Hi Glenn, Yes, there is no longer a set time for World of Radio but
all I can tell you is that the automation is on a 38 hour loop playing
in sequence order at weekends, Friday night to Monday morning then it
goes into shuffle mode Monday - Friday. It will be updated weekly
every Friday lunchtime but there is no way of telling how many times
WOR will be broadcast. I'm sorry I can't be more specific but I am
happy to help promote your programme as I have been doing so since

WRMI Spanish mentioning communist/dictatorial regimes. Scheduled this
hour is `Freedom Synergy Radio`, that pro-Taiwan in Latin America
service. Yet another contradixion in WRMI skedgrid: 5800 is
transmitter 10, shown this hour only atop as FSR on blue/green System
B, which most of the time feeds into 9955. Yet the SysB sked shows
this hour it be on 9955 with something else, R. Prague
International[e] in English & French! And F.S.R. appears nowhere in
the program blox! Nor is 5800 shown with anything during this hour on
any System. Furthermore, F.S.R. is not to be found anywhere on the
Programming page. AFAIK, this makes 5800 the only frequency Cuba
bothers to jam besides 9955. And it may well erupt outside the FSR
hour.

Was not so obscure when it started over 4 years ago, in 2020y, as in

Freedom Synergy Radio - New Program on WRMI

Beginning Monday, May 25, WRMI will broadcast a new program called
Freedom Synergy Radio. The program, which will be in English and
Spanish, will advocate for Taiwan, Republic of China.  

Freedom Synergy Radio will air on WRMI at 9:30-10:30 pm Eastern
Daylight Time Monday through Friday (0130-0230 UTC Tuesday-Saturday)
on 5800 kHz beamed primarily to the Caribbean and on WRMI’s Internet
stream. It will also be heard at 10:00-11:00 am Eastern Daylight Time
(1400-1500 UTC) Monday-Friday only on the Internet stream, which can
be heard at www.wrmi.net and on popular radio streaming services such
as TuneIn, Streema and Radio.Garden.  

Reception reports are welcome and will be answered with a WRMI QSL
card by regular mail. Reports can be sent to info@wrmi.net or they can
be submitted online on our web page, www.wrmi.net They can also be
sent by regular postal mail to WRMI, P.O. Box 526852, Miami, Florida

finds one anomaly: no signal from KIEL Loyal, the undermodulated
monophonic R. 74 Internationale part of the 3ABN TV network whose
audio is on one of their K17JN-D Enid subchannels, erroneously
self-IDed as K17JI-D . O, at 1934 recheck, KIEL is back on (Glenn

** SAUDI ARABIA. Wolfgang Büschel replies to my latest log: ``11935
kHz channel check of this TERRIBLE BUZZ SOUND check on Fri July 26 at
15.55 UT in range 11929.2 to 11939.2 kHz; nearly 68 x BUZZ strings
seen on SDR screen, each of 120 Hertz distance away each other.
S=9+30dB signal strength noted in Doha Qatar Perseus SDR remotedly.

** SPAIN. 17855, Fri July 26 at 2200, NAm frequency is back on after
missing 6 days, almost a full week, S9+30 token English from SNR,
previewing report about mental illness and the media. News starts with
French TGV railway sabotage. Other three also audible direct, 17715,
15520, 15390. 2217 into UTwente I have better reception on ME channel

** TURKEY. 6165 & 7275, July 26 at 0323, both VOT English signals are
missing direct, likewise when checked at 0350 into UTwente.
Something`s very erroneous at Emirler. They have had some scheduled
downtime lately for maintenance, but not for this so early in the
morning. Some editor refuses to publish my non-logs by frequency, even
tho an emission MISSING is more significant than a routine
appearance!

But 24 hours later, July 27 at 0310, both are back on and VG into
UTwente: 6165.007, S9+5/15 and 7275.017, S9+20/35; 0314 commentary on

signal from VOT English, nor on accidental alternates 9875 or 11795.

At 0043 July 27, 7360 is on with music, sked Turkish to SAsia; nothing
on 9870 which seemed to have been added for deliberate Portuguese at
00-01, besides 7260 zilch either. At *0059, 9870.018 does come on with
IS, 0100 TS and s/on Spanish, and 7260.006- is also on (Glenn Hauser,

UNIDENTIFIED. 7460, July 26 at 0322, S9+20/30 of open carrier.
Presumably warming up for the only listed on 7460, VOA in
Kinyarwanda/Kirundi at 0330-0430 via BOTSWANA. This is so strong that
I wonder if they have replaced it with Grimesland, which normally
doesn`t need to try to reach East Africa (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
