Hauser
** CUBA. 13650, Oct 22 at 0022, S8/S9 open carrier direct, in fact the
SSOB; must be the ``Portuguese`` music-only CRI relay, not turned off
by 0000. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. Monitoring the Saturday-evening surfeit on the
pirate-band, UT Sunday October 22: 6965-USB, Oct 22 at 0023, music at
S9+25, just in time for an ID, ``Wolverine Radio``. At 0101, SSTV
beepery. 0109 next check, it`s off. Many more reports here, including
``stained glass`` SSTV image; was jammed near the end:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,119777.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA [non]. 6934.9 AM, Oct 22 at 0024, JBA carrier, maybe
trace of music, S7 = noise level. unID pirate. These conclude it`s
AD149 from ARGENTINA:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,119773.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6870 USB, Oct 22 at 0026, distorted music at S9+10;
0027 YL ID, ``You are listening to Radio 48 via ---?``. 0032 another
ID, I think ending with ``via Mix Radio International``. Many reports
here as Radio 48 only:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,119780.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6950 USB, Oct 22 at 0102, weak talk I first think
would be local KCRC Enid on 5 x 1390 as sometimes audible, but USB
talkover ``shut the -uc- up`` and some tones not SSTV. The victim is
also USB only and not // 1390 stupid sportstalk. It`s a political
speech with applause. At 0111, music. unID pirates, apparently same as
these, misdated Oct 21 instead of 22 amid others of 22.
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,119786.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA [non]. 6935.0 AM, Oct 22 at 0107, music at S6/S7; so
not same as earlier on 6934.9. Yet HFU treats it as the same leading
to AD149 ARGENTINA:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,119773.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6925 AM, Oct 22 at 0108, music at S7, unID pirate,
no matches for this one at HF Underground (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2213 monitoring: confirmed UT
Sunday October 22 at 0000 on WRMI 9955, S7/S9 into Maryland SDR, with
considerable Cuban noise jamming but totally readable if you put up
with it. Hardly audible at remotes in S America where this is aimed.
You`ll understand why I`m hostile to Cuba?

Also confirmed UT Sunday October 22 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S9+15 into
nearby SDR, already at 0300, about 20 minutes into so started way
early circa 0240, the nominal 0315v, so would have been finished by
0310; Vern has to insert his own ID every dekaminute, often
interrupting a word or thought of mine. He also has to cut my opening
billboard to minimize the amount of music relayed; but is it OK if
there be music on a clip? I don`t let that influence what I may
insert.

Also confirmed Sunday October 22 circa 1042 UT the 1030 on WRMI 9955,
good signal direct during 1-minute sample recorded while I slept.

** U S A. 3215, Sun Oct 22 at 0705 check, WWCR is off. Program sked
now shows this WWCR-1 is off every night, 05-11 UT, while 5890 WWCR-4
TOMBS is off only on M-F and indeed it is on now and producing the
usual leapfrog mixing product over 5935 WWCR-2 on 5980 (Glenn Hauser,

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RC USB, Sat Oct 21 at 1753 tune-in via
Argentine remote, LRA36 already on, S5 talk not just music; 1755
contact info; [lunchtime for me]; 1828 recreation of LRA36 when it was
on 6030, 1968-69? 1843 IDs; 1844 multi-lingual canned IDs including
English; 1856 quoting Horacio Nigro`s La Galena del Sur blog from
Uruguay, about LRA36. Too much else going on Saturday afternoons to
listen to this for five hours straight! But some further chex: At 1918
I change to Brasil SDR. But there it does not sound quite right at
.98; maybe best at 15476.15? But SDR must be miscalibrated as on WWV
15000.000, it says carrier -106 Hz! On some SDRs can`t find a carrier
to zero in on. Even with good modulation level, carrier at Brasília is
JBA and hard to pinpoint. About 2000 mentions expecting a special
program from Adrián Korol at 6 pm [=21z]. 2002, historic recording of
first? contact between Antártida and Malvinas. 2041, it`s up to S7/S9
at Bsla. 2126, ID with frequency, current temp +5, a heat wave. 2256
next check seems off. Is anyone hearing them any other days at 15-17?
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KIRITIMATI. 846 kHz, R. Kiribati: still not getting any trace of it
direct; so I am trying via Oahu SDR which last season got it as early
at 0430 UT, circa sunset there and on Xmas Island to the south: Oct 21
at 0435, nothing audible or visible on the H2Ofall, yet SAM synch lox
onto a carrier displaying +0.4 to +1.1 Hz averaging +0.8. Don`t see
how it could be anything else from Pacific or Asia, let alone Europe.
At next chex 0523 & 0555, there is a JBV fuzzy carrier, still nothing
audible, and variation slightly greater, plus/minus 2 Hz. Some or all
of that could be instability of receiver; or partly transmitter; or
unstable propagation. Will keep checking periodically. June 8 at 0658
was the last time I logged a JJBBA carrier direct (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. RF 17, Oct 21 at 0518 UT, K17JN-D, the multi-channel 3ABN
satellator in Enid is still black and silent two weeks after first
noted October 7. One suspects the 7DA aren`t very serious about their
broadcasting (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.009+, Oct 21 at 2200, VOT timesignal and opening
English, VG S9+15/30 signal and good modulation too into UTwente, news
dated Saturday, but probably originally broadcast at 1230. 2209,
multilingual ID filler reel. 2211, music. 2216 travelog to Izmit,
which is on an inlet just ESE of Istanbul, not to be confused with
Izmir; music. 2229 `Gripping Piles` about warm temps in Antarctica,
short pants wearable due to climate change, 18 March 2022, hot humid
air blew in from Australia. 2232 more nice music. 2237 recipe for
making jam from eggplants, on `Turkiye`s Geomarked [sic] Products`.
2240 music. 2246 always-by-your-side promo, music. 2249
with-you-every-hour promo, music. 2253 s/off with usual defects. 2254
about 6 notes of IS before chopoff* No finesse (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2213 monitoring: confirmed UT
Saturday October 21 at 0130 on WRMI 5850, S9+20/30 into Missouri SDR.

Also confirmed Saturday October 21 at 1600 on WRN North America
webcast.

Also confirmed Saturday October 21 at 1630 on WRMI 15770, only S7 JBA
into UTwente SDR, European target area.

Also confirmed Saturday October 21 at 1948 about 17 minutes into so
started circa 1931 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S9+16 into nearby SDR. Also
the 1930s on WRMI webcast-only and WRN North America stream. Next:

** OKLAHOMA. 95.7, Oct 20 at 1850 UT, KXLS Lahoma/Enid is OFF! Instead
on caradio, weak gospel huxter; at 1853 overridden by KKAJ ID, like a
meteor burst; or airplane scatter, in & out. 2000 local still off and
Bott Radio Network singing ID; by 2007 I find it running about 1
second behind 800 KQCV. This all correlates with WTFDA DB:
K239BT KQCV-800 95.7 THE VILLAGE OK RELIGIOUS TEACHING BOTT RADIO
NETWORK 0.25 0.25 211.0 0.0 35-33-26 97-28-31 D2ED

34-23-50 96-55-17 2A71 KKAJ Texoma Country 95.7 Country

The Village is a NW OKC suburb, where I dwelt 1954-1961y; unnecessary
translator. I`d think KXLS might QRM it. Davis is way south in OK, 221
km = 137 miles from Enid.

ALSO OFF, sibling station of KXLS, at exactly same transmitter site:
KNID 107.1 NORTH ENID OK COUNTRY 107.1 KNID 14.0 14.0 137.0 137.0
36-32-13 98-00-39 3327 KNID Country Title & Artist
But two other siblings on 97.7 & 106.3, at separate sites, are not
off. Nothing else heard on 107.1 but I see Bott has another overkill
OKC translator there, El Reno. Something unID on 107.3; several
possibilities around OK and KS. Both 95.7 and 107.1 are back on by
next check circa 2200 UT (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.009, Oct 20 after 2200, VOT English with VG S9+15/25
signal and even VG modulation today into Maryland SDR; includes
`Weekly Analysis` on Turkish relations with Israel until 2228, then
multi-lingual ID filler reel; 2230 `Feeling Supreme/The Healing
Spring` about diarrhea and nutrition, just right for supper time.
After s/off announcement IS & ID still going, switching to German at
2256; 2300 timesignal and s/on German; starts news, 2301.5* chopoff
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

``Dear Glenn, Greetings from Encompass in the UK and thank you for
your reception report of the '80 Years of Woofferton' special

By way of confirmation, I have great pleasure in attaching an e-QSL

Confirmed Friday October 20 at 2030 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323

CCI! Only other thing listed on at this hour by mwlist is 30 watts
from Leeds, UKQOGBANI; or has Smooth Radio resumed? It`s even worse by
2100 and definitely in Hungarian, so Romania`s 15 kW minority service
must have been expanded past 1900, or 2000?

also on 5130+ cutting away from Trumpcrap, no signal on 3265+; and
6160 - 68 Hz = 6159.932, after ID continues with some other far-right,
far-christian huxter, contrary to program sked which claims it`s also
`AAAWWW`. Hmmm, sounds sorta like Biermann, but on BCQ? No, shortly
mentions `Intelligence Report`, which is supposedly sked only at 0000
UT Tue on 7490. Right into how to stock up on guns and ammo. Claims
USA is Soviet-occupied? Back to AAAWWW: at 0037 dated as Oct 20, and
simulcasting only on 7490 & 5130 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** UZBEKISTAN. 15475, Oct 20 at 1452, JBA carrier, among many on the

UT sked; not quite per EiBi:

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search, Oct 20 at
0329-0334, on the R75 with N/S interior shortwire: 1566?, 1044, 999,
855-2=strongest, 774-2, 711, 585, 576, 531 kHz.

Then I switch to the Wellbrook loop aimed E/W and get slightly better
results tuning back upward at 0334-0342: 531, 576-2, 639-2, 684, 711,
729, 774, 855-2, 882-2, 909, 954, 999, 1017, 1026, 1044, 1107-2, 1125,
1296, 1305-2, 1422, 1503, 1521 kHz. -2 means at least 2 carriers
beating.

Might have pulled a few more, but all the splash from obstructive
North Americans on 10/kHz channels is fierce. Here in deep North
America, with my ordinary equipment, getting any axual TA audio is
rare. But hey, a signal is a signal, making the trip. Many of these
I`m sure are Spain but there are some intriguing other possibilities
listed I won`t go into now.

Trans-Pacific: 846, R. Kiribati, Kiritimati, so far have not detected
this, if on the air? Would be audible as early as 0430 at least into
Hawaii SDR, and of course direct long after TAs absorbed in daytime;
anyway, nothing over 3 kW in Europe (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9600, Oct 19 at 0654, RHC Spanish, VG S9+10, starting

00-05 only. Also absent from ITU latest A23 sked as of July 18, nor
B23. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO

Hauser, OK, WOR)
