Hauser
** BRAZIL. 11815.044V, May 20 at 0634, JBA carrier wavering and hard
to pinpoint. Presumed R. Brasil Central.

11815.040V, May 21 at 0043, S5/S9 music, RBC remains plus but varying
slightly (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11880, May 20 at 2309, RHC is S6/S8 but JBM, in English? as
scheduled to Africa. Should be // 5040 but that`s JBA carrier in HNL

11950, Fri May 20 at 2309, RHC in Spanish is S8/S9+25 and even
modulating. Is this the alternate Mesa Redonda TV soundtrack?
Schedules show it not on Fridays

15730, May 20 at 2310, RHC S9+10 but suptorted, sounds like fraxured
French = Kriyòl = Creole as scheduled, toward S America, not Haïti

15230, May 20 at 2311, RHC averages S9 but JBM, should be Brazuguese?
No, Spanish, after 22-23 Portuguese, per EiBi

11880, May 21 at 0046, still on with dead air at S9+20. Supposed to
last 22-24 UT only, but previously ran way late into the night.
Somethings` always wrong at Radio Propaganda Cuba. The other side:

Something's rotten in Cuba … and it heralds more hunger
While the Government spends $ 1.5 billion building hotels, it slashes
food imports and investment in agriculture.
RAFAELA CRUZ La Habana 17 Mayo 2022 - 19:42 CEST

(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MALTA. 18125 USB, May 20 at 2305, 9H5BZ contacting 6Y5TL Jamaica,
also audible weaker, and then beaming east to CQDX Australia/NZ.

9H5BZ Malta flag Malta
Dione Caruana
`Maria`

Malta

``If I am calling CQDX - and I frequently am as I am a DX Chaser - for
me, DX means a country at least 3000 km away. So do NOT call me if you
are nearer than that. If I am calling CQ (country or continent) then I
am only interested in contacts from that country or continent and will
NOT reply to anybody else.

My name is Dione. I live in the Island of Gozo in an old village of
Zebbug. I am a senior nurse and work in the Emergency Department in
one of our Local General Hospital. I am married to Ben and have 2
lovely daughters.``

Lots of illustrations, background info about Gozo on qrz.com page.
https://www.qrz.com/db/9H5BZ
Sounds and looks like a male person. At first I thought he was saying
9A5BZ until foneticized. I started with 10, 12, ``15`` m without
hearing any activity, very little on ``17`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 7260, May 21 at 0057, dead air at S8/9+10 or just barely
modulated; 0100 5+1 timesignal cuts thru, the last pip same pitch but
prolonged; still JBM at 0133. EiBi shows this has to be VOT Spanish to
S America at 0100-0200. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO ``monitoring and confirming the
latest for #2138, Go, Oilers Go, WRMI:

WORLD OF RADIO 2139 monitoring: confirmed new second airing, UT Friday
May 20 at 0330 on WRMI 7780; at 0348 check, S7/S9 noisy into Durango,
Dgo. SDR and S9/+5 noisy into TWR Brownsville RGV TX SDR, also noisy.
It`s a shame that the 285 degree WNW antenna which should have been
used for this is no longer funxional, so a 222 aimed toward Central
America instead, i.e. SW. There are no Kiwis in that direxion, the
closest being the two above. 5985 during its 5 hours per week at
0400-0500 is also 222 and also VP here to the NW.

Also confirmed Friday May 20 at 1430 on WRMI 9955, S6/S8 direct and no
jamming audible; following Tourette`s erupter Terry Blalock finishing
by 1429 for a bit of a Spanish song buffer.

Checked IRRS just in case third Fri May 20 on 7290 via Bulgaria into
UTwente; tuned to 7290 LSB to avoid warble, a brief tone/het came and
went at 1758:35. IRRS as always cut on about 1800:55, JIP rock music
from monthly preëmptor Radio City which IDs at 1809 and also on AM
Italia, 1323 and 918 kHz, but not LW 207. So no WOR at 1815 this week

WOR 2139 confirmed Friday May 20 at 2053 the 2030 on AM Italia, 1323
kHz at S9+3 with lite SAH QRM; slightly better on clear 918, S9+5, no
207.

Also confirmed UT Saturday May 21 at 0133 the 0130 on WRMI 9395,

to be found on any other known frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

First airings confirmed, 0130 UT Friday May 20 on WRMIs: 5850 good
with storm noise into Missouri and Oklahoma; 7730 good with storm
noise into Maryland; not bad onward to UTwente but also noisy (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 21525, May 19 at 1535, WRMI music with good signal due to
sporadic-E boost; also 15825 WWCR no longer JBA. 1557 beach music on
21525 strange for Radio Africa, but shortly soon IDed and 1600 into
gospel huxter. On DX-398 battery portable during local OG&E power
outage from 1327* until *1914 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9940, May 19 at 0031, WTWW is on playing ``Don`t Worry, Be
Happy``; had been absent whenever checked last few days in daytime.
Off again at 1535 check (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 93.7, May 19 at 1540 UT, Spanish overriding KSPI Stillwater,
soon ID as ``La Raza`` so it`s KNOR Krum TX again from The Metroplex,
tropopening into ground level DX-398 with whip only.

94.5, May 19 at 1554 UT, urban-sounding adstring in English, ``Magic
94.5 -- The Real Sound of the Dee-Eff-Dub. But it`s really another
rimshotter from far north of The Metroplex, closer to OK:

KZMJ Gainesville TX, Urban AC, Majic 94.5, 100/100 kW, 591.0 m,
R&B, per WTFDA db (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU. 11835, May 19 at 0615, yay, R. Vanuatu is back on 3 x
3945, island music, S6/S9; and JBA carrier on 7890 = 2 x 3945. 0632
drumming. Had been missing May 14-18, but now also heard later by
Manuel Méndez, Lúcio Otávio Bobrowiec, Ron Howard. Our harmonic spree
resumes (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2139)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6000, May 19 at 0626, JBA 2-way seems USB - in obvious
absence of RHC by this hour (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 93.1, May 19 at 1835 UT, burst of Mexmx over fringe KS
signal on the DX-398. WTFDA db has only 9 SS in USA of which only 5
are close enough in TX, but only one of those is above translator
level: KHCU Concan TX, 9.9/9.9 kW but religious. Concan, population
100, is north of Uvalde in S Central TX; doubt it. More likely a
full-power Mexican on meteor scatter, or sporadic E attempting; plenty
of them in range (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ANTARCTICA. 15475.98 RCUSB, May 18 at 1443 tune-in via Campo Brasil
SDR, LRA36 is already on with music; 1453 song with whistling; 1500
sign-on with multilingual IDs including English to tell us it`s in
Spanish. 1502 all-female staff named by a male, ``Nacional, La Radio
Publica``; Esperanza/Antártida themesong. 1505 YL talking; 1507
temperatura máxima; 1508 exact geographical coordinates. 1509 contact
info of phone numbers, whatsaap, gmail, instagram, fb; streaming via
radio nacional, frequencies 15476 and FM 96.7 [NOT 97.6, a mixup which
keeps getting quoted, published]; 1512 song, 1514 siren.

At 1525 for the record I attempt to detect it direct on the R75 with
30m E/W longwire: less than imagination level JBA carrier; if it were
full rather than reduced -- what %? -- it might have a chance vs the S7
local line noise level in AM tuning. Next I switch to the LU1 SDR: 1536
ID, frequencies; 1545 full ID; still on past 1602, 1618+ with music but
apparently off, no longer heard from 1621 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9780-9835, May 18 at 0632, approx. range of jamming splatter
out of peak 9805 = S9 against nothing as R. Martí is never on 9805 at
this hour, in fact on no SW frequencies at all in 0600/1000 break.
Something`s very wrong at the incompetent DentroCuban Jamming Command
where they also do not give a damn about collateral damage (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9440v, May 18 at 2225, NO signal today of R. Cairo English
into UTwente. Nor circa 9900 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17855, Wed May 18 at 2210, token English from REE, today`s
feature with Amy Egan about the Eurovision Song Contest won by Ukraine,
also with other entries such as Spain`s. VG into Maryland SDR (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9830.021, May 18 at 2225, VOT English, S9+40 into UTwente
with some hum, just concluding the `Feeling Supreme` theme (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2138 monitoring: confirmed Tuesday
May 17 at 2230 on WRMI 9955, S9/+20 into Maryland SDR and no jamming
audible; also have UTwente running way outside target area and no
signal there, just clicking. At 2258 direct, 9955 is S9+10/20 and
jamming is building for the 2300 Radio Libertad until 2400: but at 2325
fill music is playing.

WOR also confirmed at new time of Tuesday May 17 at 2330 on WRMI 9395,
S9+5/20 into Maryland SDR.

Also confirmed Wednesday May 18 at approx. 2100:21 on WBCQ 7490v, S7/S9
into Maryland SDR minus 70 Hz = 7489.93. Next:

0030 UT Thursday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 9455 to WNW
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 9395 to NNW

** U S A. Slight correxions to 5130 Radio Angela report May 17: [...]
At 0200 starts `Marion`s Attic`. We have now escaped CODAR QRM and the
uteblaaps! No QRM to 5130, but still some storm crashes inevitably in
spring/summer. Yet listenable, and better than the original 7490v
airing too early direct at 21 UT Sundays. 0300 next show is `Bluegrass
State of Mind`. Or, is it ``Mine``? 5130 ex-4790 of course also applies

audibly but still exceeding 9667 from nominal 9665 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 13680, May 17 at 2001, RHC theme JBA and sounds like
Portuguese/Brasilian. This frequency is still missing from EiBi and
Aoki tho I reported it some time ago. Is anyone paying attention?

15140, May 17 at 2002, RHC definitely in Brazuguese, S6/S8 but not //
13680. Maybe two separate playouts. Aoki is way out of date, still
showing winter timing for English on 15140 at 2000-2100. EiBi on 15140
at 2000-2030 shows French. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9439.995, May 17 at 2201, R. Cairo still in extremely
distorted English, plus hum S9+30/40 into UTwente. As Alan Holder
quipped, ``something`s always amiss at Abis``, but that does not do
this justice; rather, ``egregious in Egypt`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SRI LANKA. Correxion to typo in frequency as ``15709.079``! Delete
original report and replace with:
15709.979, May 16 at 1447, JBA carrier. Scheduled is AWR Chinese via
Trincomalee on ``15710`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** UKRAINE [non]. 7730, May 17 at 0500-0506, UR1 via WRMI, day 82 of
Russia`s war, `Ukraine: Security Issue` in English (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

ruined otherwise decent reception of BBCWS via SMG at 0500 on 9410.

`Flashpoint: Ukraine` dated today, not Mon May 16 edition which got

S9/+10 into Maryland SDR. But followed by another anomaly at 2000,
faux-time-signal and VORW, John claiming it be Sunday May 15 on 5850
doing a full new show tho did not feel well (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5130, May 17 at *0155, WBCQ IS & ID loop, just reactivated
for first time, ex-4790 for Radio Angela. S9/+5 into Maryland SDR
reading -22 Hz = 5129.978 as every Classic `BCQ frequency must be at
