Glenn Hauser logs July 12-13, 2025 |

Sunday, July 13 2025
** CUBA. 1141 kHz, July 13 at 0343, the only significant het on a 10/kHz bandscan, better on E/W antenna (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** CUBA [non]. 9670, Sun July 13 at 1700+, no signal into UTwente or DL7APJ from Channel 292, scheduled as last chance to hear this month`s `From the Isle of Music`; make it good later? Definitely on at next check 1829 into both with something else. But Uncle Bill replies: ``Glenn, It was on, I checked a number of SDRs, something was interfering with the signal, especially during the first half hour. Twente became listenable during the second half hour. I don't know whether the first half hour was atmospheric issues (it was audible in a few places like Norway) vs. something like a nearby DRM transmission that fuzzed it out. SO, If it happens the same way next week with UBMP I'll have to go hunt for another time again. Thanks for noticing. --Bill -- William "Bill" Tilford Tilford Productions LLC 809 S. 20th ST Lafayette IN 47905-1551 USA tel: 773.267.6548`` I see EiBi has this, nothing closer to 9670: 9655 1600-1900 irr F TDF DIGITAL F SEu i (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO. 760, July 13 at 0340, Mexmx on N/S antenna only, which means it`s close to due south as the E/W loop not getting it at all; while WJR QRM from the NE audible on both. No USA SS fits. Furthermore there is no het, so not XEDGO unless it`s been normalized - that leaves most likely XEABC, 10 kW at night from Edo. Méx. Kept hoping for an ID, but by 0400 hearing WJR only (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** MEXICO [and non]. 800, July 13 at 0338 UT and later chex past 0400, continuous noise QRMing KQCV OKC, only on the N/S antenna. Suspect XEERG NL, back to its old trix I thought had been fixed or nullified since last year. Need to check for it in daytime on remote. Which I do at 1523, Brownsville TX the closest: yes, noise peaks atop some unreadable modulation. The only TX 800 is at other end of state, Dumas; and the other XEs are also really too far for daytime (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. 930, July 13 at 0336 UT, DA best on N/S antenna, some music E/W, still dead at 0350! Must be WKY OKC. Standard derision about stations not caring enough to be sure to modulate (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 1230 kHz, UT Sun July 13 at 0106 after Fox `news`, hi, lo, current temps somewhere, then full ID for ``WBBZ, broadcasting worldwide from Ponca City, Oklahoma, on 1230 and online``, and into ancient rerun, `Art Bell, Somewhere in Time`, from 15 of Feb 2002. Also found on 1110 KFAB, 690 KGGF and no doubt many others. This is before full nighttime graveyard QRM; as closest 1230, WBBZ can sometimes be barely atop at night (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** OKLAHOMA. Back in Time is OETA’s award-winning documentary series showcasing significant people, events, and stories that shaped the history of Oklahoma. https://www.oeta.tv/shows/back-in-time/ Television Pioneers episode | 57m 45s | 2025/07/24 | Explore the magic of Oklahoma’s early television. From Lunch with Ho-Ho to Mazzepa, local shows like Cook’s Book, Sooner Shindig, and 3-D Danny captivated audiences. Back in Time features rare footage and interviews to uncover the story of Oklahoma’s TV pioneers and the birth of local broadcasting. https://player.pbs.org/static-files/build/309fe60227cca1f1a6e6.cad1cf10fa95.svg A 27+ minute episode is currently airing at multiple times; they promote the longer version online. This is quite nostalgic for me! (Glenn Hauser, ex-OKC, Enid, WOR) ** ROMANIA. 11945, July 13 at 0114, rapid Romanian, sounds like artificially sped up, then slow song, S9+5/25, the SSOB along with Brasil 11780 S9+25. It`s Galbeni for eastern N America (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 11785, Sat July 12 at 2224 check into UTwente, NO signal from VOT English to North America; nor on accidentalternate 9875. Something`s always erroneous at Emirler (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** TURKEY. 9750, Sun July 13 at 1905, VOT `Letterbox` already underway at tune-in, S9+30/50 into Noale, Italy SDR I already have running for a WOR check on MW. 1) Mr Kumar; 2) André Kuznetsov; 3) Frances/Francis, Ireland; last) Siddartha --, India, does Turkey celebrate International Day against Drug Abuse, etc. on 26 June? Yes. 1910 ``that is all``, 1911 theme (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2303 monitoring: confirmed Saturday July 12 at 2100 on WRMI 9395, S9 into Georgia SDR. Also confirmed Saturday July 12 at 2230 on WRMI 15770, S9/+10 into UTwente. Also confirmed UT Sunday July 13 at 0330 in progress on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, JBA direct in HSNL totaling S9/+10. I was mentioning PKK and Kurdistan? But I don`t think I did so this time nor in the last few weeks; old show? Checking earlier at 0307, in `ARRL Audio News` into N9AZZ remote, CW QRM, a contest on 160? Also confirmed Sunday July 13 at 1900 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 918 kHz, S9+22 and 1323 kHz, S9+10 into nearby Noale SDR. Next: 2100 UT Sunday WRMI 15770 to NE; 2130 UT Sunday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2330 UT Sunday WRMI 9455 to NW; 0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW; 0830 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 6160 [suspended]; 1930 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW; 1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast]; 2000 UT Tuesday IRRS SW via AM Italia 1323 and/or 918; 2330 UT Tuesday WRMI 9395 to NNW; 2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975; 0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW [NEW]; 1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160; 2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW; 0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S; 1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160. Thanks for financial support this week from Richard Stoller in Pennsylvania for a contribution via PayPal, in US funds but not necessarily to woradio at yahoo.com One may also contribute by MO or check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser, PO Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 5065, 5078 approx., huge dirty blobs come and go, July 13 at 0057 as I tune up, another around 5105, obviously out of the WTWW S9+45, 5085 transmitter tuning up which is on early, modulation from 0100 and extremely distorted on fundamental before clearing up somewhat. The other WTWW is still on 9930 not yet 5920. At 0520, 5085 is off but 5920 on (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 9330, July 13 at 1445, no signal from WBCQ/WLCR. What`s wrong, again? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 4840, UT Sun July 13 at 0057, `Wavescan` is back on WWCR, VG signal here already, just as Jeff White is saying they are back, at 0030 UT Sundays (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1010 kHz, July 13 at 0334 UT, gospel huxtress in English, then switches to Spanish, atop QRM, better on E/W loop than N/S wire. That format would fit best the very first 1010 in the NRC AM Log, KXXT Tolleson AZ, U7 300 watts night, REL/SS:REL - tho KDJW Amarillo TX would be more likely, U4 500 W night, EWTN, which could be bilingual, but on a single station? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A. 1130 kHz, July 13 at 0332 UT, tones and NWS warning of flash floods in TX, so must be KWKH Shreveport LA, vs music from KLEY KS cheater, and soon back to silly sports talk (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) UNIDENTIFIED. 730, July 13 at 0345 UT, songs in English, better on N/S antenna than E/W. Suspected XEX straying from sports in Spanish; or KKDA Dallas, the ``Korean`` station? At 0351 there is some Spanish sports talk (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) This report dispatched at 1954 UT July 13 _ Hard-Core-DX mailing list Hard-Core-DX@hard-core-dx.com http://montreal.kotalampi.com/mailman/listinfo/hard-core-dx http://www.hard-core-dx.com/

Saturday, July 12 2025
** AUSTRALIA. 12365 USB, July 12 at 0614, marine weather by no-nonsense assertive fakevoice, lots of coordinates and UTCs mentioned: conveying a weather map verbally? The longitudes east and the latitudes south. 0618 ID as ``VMC Australian weather ---`` Then listing all its frequencies: 2201, 4426, 6507, 8176, 13265, 16546 and area covered. Then same info for sibling station VMW to 0619.5*. VMC is in Charleville, Qsld, VMW in Wiluna WA. EiBi shows Sound of Hope also on 12365 but none of that now, nor jamming. C`ville is in S central Qsld, very much inland (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** FRANCE. Re KUWAIT [non] unID 15540 in last report, in the NASWA iog from Paul Walker: ``WRTH's Mauno Ritola says, with thanks to me for the original report finding it, this is Radio Omid Iran, the update is in the WRTH Web App for A25 (which I don`t have). Via Issoudun France`` Mauno Ritola on WRTH FB: ``Correction: seems that "Omid e-Iran" (Hope of Iran) is the producing organisation behind the transmission and the shortwave operation is called "Radio Zamane Bidari" (Awakening time).`` See also about one of the programmers on it: https://www.mitrababak.co.uk/radio-omid-iran https://www-mitrababak-co-uk.translate.goog/blank?_x_tr_sl=fa&_x_tr_tl=en&_x_tr_hl=en&_x_tr_pto=sc&_x_tr_hist=true (via Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** ITALY. Correxion: in last report, omitted NOT before LW 207; fixed: 918 kHz, Fri July 11 at 1904, AM Italia relaying IRRS SW in FSN, 1905 UN News, 1909 songs, S9+22 into nearby Noale SDR. Also still on 1323 but much weaker S9+7, NOT on LW 207 kHz. NEXUS-IBA program schedule still shows 1323 only. I asked IRRS about this: ``In case you have not noticed, as not on your program sked, AM Italia is now and has been active for a while on 918 kHz, and with a much stronger signal than 1323 which is also still on air, as monitored by the nearby Noale SDR. 73, Glenn`` Reply from Alfredo Cotroneo: ``Yes, we are optimizing the infrastructure and running some experiments with different transmitters and antenna configurations on 1323 and 918 kHz. Alfredo`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO podcasts: ``Keith, Tnx for working on my podcasts. Checking the links I have on my homepage, http://www.worldofradio.com they all seem to work except feedburner which goes to a document tree. How should we change that? I gather that WOR can be reached thru various other podcast services, many of which I may be unaware of. How can I know or publicize that info? Glenn`` Keith Weston replies July 12: ``Glenn, That document tree is what is to be expected from a bare RSS feed. That is the correct link for feedburner. It's an XML document (which is what a RSS feed actually is). I would mention that WOR is available at Apple Podcasts, TuneIn, YouTube and nearly everywhere you get your podcasts. Because RSS is a distributed system, there are hundreds if not thousands of "clearning houses". The biggest players are Apple, TuneIn, YouTube, Spotify, etc. The way podcasts work is that you get them listed at a few of those places (mainly Apple, Tunein and Google) and the podcast just populates "everywhere" because other services are built upon these main nodes. I hope that makes sense. The distribution model starts with Feedburner in this case and spreads out in hundreds of nodes from there. Keith`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) ** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2303 monitoring: confirmed UT Saturday July 12 at 0300 on WTWW 5085, S9+50 direct. As usual when it happens, introduced by ``From the ministry of...`` And at 0329 conclusion played about a minute of hymn ``We Gather Together`` before chop at 0330 without ID or s/off announcement. But we`re glad to be on there! Thank you, George. WOR continues to show on WRMI`s System D - blue program grid, Saturdays at 0930 on 9455; I happen to awaken after 0900 July 12, so check 9455: Classic Redneck Radio`s wacko preacher. That`s what shows on the System E grid. I assume all other programs at 0900-1000 on Sys D 9455 sked be imaginary as well. Also confirmed Saturday July 12 at 1445 the 1430 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, 6160.002-, S9/+5 into UTwente. Also confirmed Saturday July 12 at 1600 on WRN North America stream. Also confirmed Saturday July 12 at 1735 the 1730 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, 6160.000+ at S8/9+5, and a few words behind on 3975.001+, S8 both into UTwente with internal tone QRM. Also confirmed Saturday July 12 from 1933 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S5.5 vs storm noise level into K9VD Jerseyville IL SDR. Also confirmed Saturday July 12 after 1930 on WRN North America stream.
