Glenn Hauser logs March 17-18-19-20, 2019
Wednesday, March 20 2019

Logs
** CUBA. 6165, March 18 at 0041, RHC English is already on during this
earlier hour due to DST, tho last summer it wasn`t starting until 0100
UT; S9+10 and undermodulated. // 6000 is S9+20 with better mod; 6060
is off and 5040 is in French. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1974, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6160, March 19 at 0615, S9+40 of dead air, obviously RHC on
new frequency ex-6165, as Wolfgang Bueschel had just noted presumably
still modulating a few minutes before 0600. At least this clears 6165
for NHK Arabic via France at 0600. What else now? Dead air also on
6060 at S9+30; 6000 and 5040 are off; 6100 is still on at 0616, but in
Spanish! S9+20 and splattering +/- 15 kHz. Something`s always wrong at
RHC.

Shift to 6160 also moves leapfrog mixing product: JBA carrier at 0620
March 19 on 6260, ex-6270, i.e. 6060 over 6160 another 100 kHz beyond.

6000, March 20 at 0009, RHC English is already running this hour, but
6165/6160 is off. Something`s always wrong at RHC. 6165, not 6160,
however is resumed at 0212 check March 20 in English (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1974, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MALI [non]. 9635, March 18 at 1906, French news is VG via UTwente,
as I check for R. Mali which yesterday stayed on this frequency past
1800 instead of switching to 5995. But wait --- their French is just
**too** good, and at 1930 timechex for UT and UT+1, as by now it is
obviously RFI, as sked this hour only from Issoudun to Africa --- and
no QRM from Mali, while on 5995 via UTwente nothing but a JBA carrier.
In OK, 9635 is a JBA carrier.

5995, March 19 at 0618, no signal from Mali now, nor ever yet at this
hour since reactivation evenings (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO
1974, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SAO TOME. 1530, March 18 at 0257-0300 UT, I`m listening both on the
R-75 with E/W longwire, and on the wrist/altazimuth mounted DX-398,
one into each ear, for any trace of 600 kW VOA relay signing on with
Yankee Doodle, as Mark Connelly, MA has urged us to try for, since on
the coast it`s inbooming. Not a bit: if I null WCKY, I still have
Spanish, presumed KGBT. Another time to check if not too far into the
dayside like we are, is around Pinheira sign-off 2200* (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 1973 monitoring: Ivo Ivanov,
Bulgaria reports: ``GERMANY World of Radio via HLR on 9485 & 7265
CUSB, March 16/17
https://swldxbulgaria.blogspot.com/2019/03/reception-of-world-of-radio-via-hlr-on_17.html

but no longer // on 5950 carrying ``Ministry Truth of Gospel`` ?? and
is now // 7780 which is listed as `Thru the Cross Ministry` and also
listed // 5850, unchecked.

WOR also confirmed UT Monday March 18 at 0230 on WRMI 7780, S9/S9+10,

a JBA carrier on WBCQ 5130.43v.

Also confirmed UT Monday March 18 at 0330 on WRMI webcast, JBA carrier
on 9955 with JBA jamming

Also confirmed via UTwente SDR Monday March 18 at 1900 on IRRS 7290
via Romania, good but with ACI from 7295 CRI. *1859.5 with fragment of
newscast, IRRS sign on and 1900 right into WOR 1973; inaudible in OK

The Monday 2230 has been replaced by `Teachers Corner` at 22-23 on
9955, which seems to be mostly music

WOR 1973 also confirmed UT Tuesday March 19 at 0030 on WRMI 7730, VG

Also confirmed UT Tuesday March 19 at 0100 on WRMI 7780, fair S7-S9 at

** U S A. 9395, UT Mon March 18 at 0058, WRMI with `Countdown 2 Xmas`
wrapping the hour claiming to be on 9395 and 9455! at 6 pm MT/8 pm ET,
and ``midday UTC``, meaning midnight, ``Merry Xmas``. No, 9455 is not
on now nor ever except on UT Thursdays with othershows. Only time C2X
is on the skedgrid is System G, 8-9 pm EDT Sundays on 9395 & 5950. But
something else is really on 5950.

9395, UT Mon March 18 at 0100:30, now WRMI is playing ``Imagine``,
which is sorta contrary to Xmas, in Oldies service? and still not //
5950. They remain split at 0130 when WOR runs on 9395 only, q.v.
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5950, March 19 at 0624, WRMI sounds like Thai; must be SMTV
expanding into this hour instead of Oldies or whatever; unknown if
also on 9395 JBAC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 1974, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 5002-5003, March 18 at 0500, utehash is again far too
close to 5000, QRMing WWV/H, so beyond an anomaly. What is this?? And
there it is again, March 19 at 0619 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6925-USB, March 18 at 0038, VP talk. Looking for Irish
Rose pirate which had promised a St Patrix Day broadcast as heard
testing the night before; but it had made some broadcasts during the
previous week and no pirates at all were reported at HFU early UT
March 18 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

This report dispatched at 0237 UT March 20
