Logs
** CUBA. 11760, Sept 21 at 0056, RHC IS and Spanish ID, not on any 15
or 13 MHz frequency. 9710 is on but not // with jazz past 0100, and
English announcement at 0101. 6000 is on but not enough modulation to
make a sure match to either (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 11760 & 15140, Sept 21 at 1432, RHC Spanish, and dead air on
15230, no signal on 13780 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 15140, Sept 21 at 1908, RHC English not off the air, S9+10/25
into Georgia SDR, but with squealy QRM, not on 11760 or anywhere else
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [non]. NO activity this Saturday evening from R. Martí, on 6,
7, 9, 11 or 13 MHz channels around 0100 UT September 21.

13605 S7/S9, 11930 S6/S7, 11860 S7, 1433 UT Sept 21, all these Martíes
are on this Sundaytime (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.004-, Sept 20 at 2203, VOT English not off the air,
S9+50! into UTwente (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 11660.009, Sun Sept 21 at 1643 into UTwente, VOT
English S9+25/30 starting `The Pulse of Turkish Foreign Policy`. 1651
TRTVOTVorld.com news in 41 languages promo - a shortened version,
music. 1655 replay same already!

And start `The Letterbox Programmme`, which Cemre opens with a cup of
tea, and coming up from Japan, USA, Australia, China. 1) Mr Francis
--, Dublin, Ireland, reports German on 9840, Turkish on 9460. Will
forward report to YL QSL manager when back from annual leave. 2)
Mohammed Breyel?, KL area, Malaysia. Not sure of surname, but sure
sounds like same as well-known DXer Timm Breyel: are they the same, or
related?

3) Mikhail? Rybstczak?? Poland. 4) Mr Miroslav Brunar?, central
Slovakia, OL7AMT? Aha, maybe I can look him up at QRZ.com - OL would
be Czechia; finally found as: ``OM7ANT Slovak Republic flag Slovak
Republic, Miroslav "Miro" Brunner, Banská Bystrica, Slovak
Republic``!

5) Jayanta Chakroborty, northern India: what is the % of internet
coverage in Turkey? Is there a national digital payment system? Yes,
called `Troy`. 86-87% of people as of 2024y, more so urban than rural.
6) Mr Fahri? --, Indonesia, heard Malay on 17720.

7) Ricky Hein, South Dakota, still complaining that something is wrong
with the A41 antenna causing SINPOs in the ones for him on 11785,
7275. She will pass on to engineers, never suggests the problem is
propagation or at his end, but he should try streaming. 8) Hideki?
Suiyaki? Japan. 9) Shanhan Kong?, China, reports from May of Malay,
Shazaam fails to ID songs, so Cemre looks them up and even spells!
them, like she should names of L`Boxers.

10) finally, Paul Simmonds, Ashbourne, near Adelaide SA, heard
Turkish, sends wildlife photos, ham VK5PAS. Lots of WL and other
photos, extensive autobiography on his page:
https://www.qrz.com/db/VK5PAS
``VK5PAS Australia flag Australia, Paul SIMMONDS, PO Box 169 Mount
Barker, South Australia 5251``. 1721 ends with VOT postal address
which she never spells despite unfamiliar names; 1722 theme -- this
was a *long* L`box, 28 minutes; ``always-by-your-side`` promo.

1723 s/off as if 17620 at 1230, something`s always awry at Ankara,
1724 IS. 1726 restart IS with *French* IDs which is supposed to be on
7360 to Central Africa by 1730. Erroneous at Emirler. 1728* cut off
11660, uncovering an S9+25/35 carrier which after 1730 is in Chinese,
i.e. CRI in Mandarin to Europe via Shijiazhuang site per EiBi (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U K. 9500, Sept 20 at 1927 tune-in until 1959 or so, Radio Love
Warbler, final broadcast, via Woofferton, VG S9+20/25 into UTwente.
Human voices performing imaginary birdcalls - certainly a unique
concept, and hope it`s recorded somewhere for further enjoyment. 1955
announcement ``broadcasting from Kent in the UK`` and
radio.love.warbler@gmail.com address. See:
https://www.creativefolkestone.org.uk/artists/hanna-tuulikki/ ;
which still shows wrong date of Sept 23: don`t you believe it. Heavy
clicking QRM cut on at 1958 covering 9495 to 9525+, OTH radar? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1860 AM, Sept 21 until 0703 UT, WA0RCR with first-hand
account of a ham`s attempts to monitor police etc., in the immediate
aftermath of 9/11, suggestions to be better prepared next time; outro
as having been `This Week in Amateur Radio`; not to be confused with
ex-Adventist SW in Costa Rica, TIAWR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 28375 USB, Sept 21 at 1408, KC1BBU about the only phone
signal on 10m. QRZ.com: ``KC1BBU USA flag USA, Robert J "BOB" Larkin,
2 BEVERLY WAY, WAREHAM, MA 02571, USA`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2313 monitoring: confirmed Saturday
September 20 at 1930 on WRN via WRMI 9395, S9+10/25 into Georgia SDR.

As usual, very difficult to confirm the Saturday 1930v on WA0RCR, 1860
AM, MO, as the two KiwiSDRs very close to St Louis can`t get it at all
in the daytime. N9AZZ, further away in IL, gets traces, such as at
1933, S5 in noise, I think it`s my voice; does not improve before 2000
altho last week it was much more audible when running a bit late after
2000.

Also confirmed Saturday September 20 at 2000 on WRN Europe stream.

Also confirmed Saturday September 20 at 2100 on WRMI 9395, S9+20/35
into Georgia SDR.

Also confirmed Saturday September 20 at 2230 on WRMI 15770, S9+10/20
into UTwente where it`s aimed; followed by VOSR at 2300, another DX
program from a surfer on Molokai.

Also confirmed UT Sunday September 21 at 0254 about 11 minutes into,
so started early circa 0243 the 0315v on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, S7/S8
into N9AZZ remote vs very heavy storm noise, just barely readable.

Also reconfirmed Sunday September 21 at 1048 the 1030 on WRN via WRMI,
9395, 9955, 7780, 7730.

Also confirmed Sunday September 21 at 1854 the 1831 on SW Gold Radio,
Germany, 6160.000 S8/9 with RTTYditty on plus side, and slightly
delayed on 3975.001+ S9.

Also confirmed Sunday September 21 at 1900 on IRRS SW via AM Italia,
1322.994+, S9+5 noisy into UTwente across Europe. Next:

2100 UT Sunday WRMI 15770 to NE;

support, via PayPal to woradio at yahoo.com

One may also contribute via money order or check on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5850, 7570, 7730, 7780, Sept 21 at 0629, WRMI relaying WRN
on all these, only, presumably after DW (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VANUATU [and non]. 9962.53, Sept 21 at 0635, low pulsing QRMing
9960 RV (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 780+, Sept 21 at 0637 UT, very strange whine QRMing WBBM
only on the upper side, but OK with LSB tuning for `StarDate` at 0640
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs September 19-20, 2025  View Printable Version
Saturday, September 20 2025

Logs
** CUBA. 6000, Sept 19 at 0607, RHC still on S9+25/35 suptorted but I
can tell it`s Spanish, not English. SAWA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 9790, Sept 19 at 0604, S9+20/25 of dead air, obviously the
CRI relay transmitter still on long beyond its normal hours of 03-05
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO [and non]. 760, Sept 20 at 0617, underneath KCCV still
cheating and WJR, I JB hear a mention of ``Radio Cañón`` -- that`s all
I need to log XEABC, as in IRCA Mexican Log:

``760 XEABC Mex Los Reyes de la Paz 70000 10000 Radio Cañon ,
XERAG Radio Alegría, Tus Mejores Recuerdos, La 7-60, La Estación del
Valle de México, Recuerdos en 760, Alegría 760 AM 24h REC/VAR/CLA
ABC

No FM. U4? Still maintains a Facebook page with fake call letters
XERAG for its "Radio Alegria" {sic] program. ABC/NTR stations are
struggling to update their branding and formats. Still active on AM
7/25 (logged by DXer), and included in 7/25 IFT list``

About the spelling of Cañón - even lazy natives often omit the accent
on the o, which is absolutely required since it`s stressed on the last
syllable ending in n! --- Hey, we put a tilde ~ on the n, so isn`t
that enough??? And I can`t find anywhere in Log what NTR stand for -
maybe ``No Tildes Required``? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SCOTLAND [non]. 5850, UT Sat Sept 20 at 0554, surprised to hear
classical music on this WRMI; could it be an encore of `Encore`? Yes,
a minute later Brice Avery announces, but does not say good-bye as he
always does *before* the final piece of music, so this must not be the
end of an hour starting at 0500! Also he mispronounces Cherubini,
Josquin and Guillaume, cringe. I hasten to check other WRMIs for
possible parallels - maybe 7730, 7780? Both too weak direct to be
certain. The music is rudely chopped off at 0559:30 for ``Everglades``
ID, 0600 joining WRN for DW.

The skedgrid for WRMI-12 5850 shows System E WRN at 0400-0800, but
Encore is not on WRN schedule; at 0530, Slovakia. Below, the System E
program grid shows WRN at 0500-0600 on all these!: 5800, 5850, 5950,
7730, 7780, 9455, 9955. But 5800, 5950, 9455 and 9955 are OFF!

Apparently Encore playback started circa 0530 even tho only one
semi-hour was available for it. Latest publicized times for it are
instead:

``Dear Listener,
Regular Broadcast times of Encore By WRMI and Channel 292 are:
02:00 - 03:00 UTC Friday 5850 kHz WRMI to US
20:00 - 21:00 UTC Friday 15770 kHz WRMI to Europe
10:00 - 11:00 UTC Saturday 9670 kHz Channel 292 to Europe
01:00 - 02:00 UTC Sunday 5850 kHz WRMI to US and Canada
19:00 - 20:00 UTC Sunday 3955 kHz Channel 292 to Europe
02:00 - 03:00 UTC Monday 5950 kHz WRMI to the US and Canada
13:00 - 14:00 UTC Tuesday 15770 kHz WRMI to Europe, east coast of US
and Iceland. (Sometimes RTTY on the lower sideband. Suggest notch out
or use USB.)

Some Things to see on The Encore Website:
The Encore website is www.tumbril.co.uk where you will find:
Important information about funding of Encore - Radio Tumbril.
Up to date transmission times and frequencies.
The playlists for the most recent programmes.
An email link...``

The names I heard mentioned appear nowhere on the Playlists for this
fortnight, nor the previous one - so maybe remnant of an older show
still inhabiting the WRMI server and somehow brought up on this
unexpected occasion; the only ENCORE there now is the latest, uploaded
9/17 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.009+, Sept 19 at 2200, VOT English not off the air,
S9+55! into UTwente (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2313 monitoring: confirmed first SW

1322.994+, S8/S9+10 into utwente; S9+5/12 into nearby Noale SDR, and
still not also trying 918 or 207 kHz.

Also confirmed Friday September 19 at 2200, inaudible under noise at
Bonaire; but S9+30 on WRMI 9955, into Georgia SDR, and signal briefly
dropped off 2 or 3 times around 2215, uncovering presumed splash from
9930 WTWW.

Missed checking Fri Sept 19 at 2230 on SWG Radio, Germany, 3975;
anyone hear it?

Confirmed Saturday September 20 at 1434 the 1431 on SW Gold Radio,
Germany, 6160.001-, S9+10 into UTwente.

Also confirmed Saturday September 20 at 1600 on WRN North America
stream. Forgot! to check whether also on any WRMI frequencies now
relaying WRN. However, at 1637, via Georgia SDR, I do hear NHK on
9395, and JBA 7730, as scheduled on WRN, so WOR probably did appear at
1600.

Also confirmed Saturday September 20 at 1731 on SW Gold Radio,
Germany, 6160.000 S9/+10 with RTTYditty on plus side; and 3975.001-

** U S A. Pre-`AAAWWW` chex of WBCQs, Sept 19 at 2349, into the other
NH SDR: 3265.124 is ON! for a change, S6/S7, a sign that finally a new
show be imminent, as they don`t bother to turn it on for repeats, with
FKB. 5130 -87 Hz = 5129.913 also on S7/S8 with jazz music; a bit later
seems to be // not synch with Area 51 webcast. 6160 JBA carrier, so
not? WBCQ yet. 7490 -69 Hz = 7489.931 with FKB // 3265+. 9330 WLCR
Portuguese S9+10. Calibration of this SDR is accurate within 1 Hz
compared to WWV.

On 7490 & webcast, a few sex before 0000 UT Sat Sept 20, FKB cut off
for ID, and live comments before WTO theme: sun keeps turnin`, good
ol` life keeps going on === good ol` analog WBCQ is here. Finally gets
Angela on the phone; admits it`s been 6 weeks since last new show, now
it`s Sept 19, 2025, TCB. Free Speech under assault: Charlie Kirk
gunned down by a ``leftwing wackadoodle`` - at this early point I
mostly lose interest in the rest even tho occasional chex indicate
they go on to other stuff. Says on all 5 transmitters at 0009, but I
still don`t hear 6160. It is there however by 0026 check at S9+20
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 760, Sept 19 at 0617 UT, gospel huxter in English overcoming
poor WJR. Surely it`s Bott`s KCCV Overland Park KS, U4 6000/200 but on
day power and pattern which is NE/SW thisaway; night pattern also
favors SW supposedly protecting WJR (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) see also
