Logs
** CUBA. 15230, Oct 5 at 1436, S8 of dead air from RHC; 13780 S6 of
DA, or JBM? 11760 S8/S9 of undermod Spanish.

11760, Sun Oct 5 at 1504, RHC with Esperanto theme and s/on S7/S9 into
Knoxville SDR, outdated schedule as 08 on 6000?, 16 on 15730? 2230? on
something. 13780 not on now, and 15230 still DA. Revamped radiohc.cu
website seems to have eliminated any SW frequency info, no OF INTEREST
sexion (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FRANCE [and non]. 7340, Sun Oct 5 at 1542, TDF is still on with
MiniTransAt weather broadcast, but by now is in music fill, with
``Mem`ries``, S9+15 into UTwente, and only S5/S6 on // 17545 because
Issoudun is too close to UTwente. Is off by 1557 when I hear on 7340
instead, ChiCom martial music, 1600 TS, and presumed Kazakh as
scheduled before and after via PBS Xinjiang, Urumqi (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** PUERTO RICO. 391 MCW kHz, Oct 5 at 0637, DDP audible again, beacon
from DoraDo, Puerto Rico airport; once I have turned off some
household devices for a marginal reduxion in local noise level (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11660.019-, Sun Oct 5 at 1640, VOT English, S9+10/25 into
UTwente, ``with-you-every-hour`` promo, `The Pulse of Turkish Foreign
Policy`; 1648 outro, 1649 song. 1652 `Letterbox` with Cemre. Copy is
more difficult than usual as internet is choppy, cutting out so I miss
some names, etc.

1) Mr. Alex? ---?, Pacific NW USA, listener since 1988, details of
multiple logs on 11785 & 7275 takes first 7 minutes. 2) 1659, Christer
Brunström, Sweden, is writing articles for ham publication about
SWLing. Cemre says TRT believes strongly in SW radio, aware of the
shortcomings of internet. 3) 1703, Port Alberni, Canada, listening via
W3HFU remote in MD, almost perfect reception, 54555. 4) 1705, Mr.
Andres? Siliani?, Stone Hill, ON, Canada. 5) 1708 finally: Ricky Hein,
Rapid City SD, continues to complain about reception on 11785, 7275,
SINPOs in the ones, uses Etón receiver, likes TV game shows, requests
link for webcast but none provided. Asks him not to give up. Cemre saw
a report somewhere that TRT was getting some CW QRM, what frequency?
Also someone had ham/voice QRM on 7275 -- well, yeah, TRT is an
INTRUDER into the W Hemisphere 40m hamband. They should go somewhere
above 7300! 1711 wrapup, 1712 theme, ``w-y-e-h`` promo again, and now
I see UTwente has it on 11659.995 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2315 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
October 5 at 1834 the 1831 on SW Gold Radio, Germany, 3975.001+ S9+5
but JBA on 6159.999 with RTTYditty above, both into UTwente.

Also confirmed Sunday October 5 at 1900 on IRRS SW via AM Italia,
1322.996-, VG S9+5 into UTwente. Next:

2100 UT Sunday WRMI 15770 to NE;
2300 UT Sunday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
2330 UT Sunday WRMI 9455 to NW;
0030 UT Monday WRMI 7780 to SW;
1930 UT Monday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160;
0330 UT Tuesday WRMI 7780 to SW;
1300 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast];
1400 UT Tuesday WRMI 9955 to SSE [also web-, phonecast];
2000 UT Tuesday IRRS SW via AM Italia 1323;
2330 UT Tuesday SW Radio, Germany 3975;
0030 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
1930 UT Wednesday SW Radio, Germany 3975 & 6160 [except Oct 8];
2100 UT Wednesday WBCQ 7490v to WSW;
2330 UT Wednesday WRMI 9395 to NNW;
0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S;
1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 6160.

Many thanks to Jim Snow, St Simons Is., Georgia, for a generous check
to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702, and says: ``Dear Mr
Hauser, I am sending this donation to help continue your great work in
promoting our hobby!``

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to
woradio at yahoo.com (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9670 approx., Oct 5 at 1445, huge blob at S9+20, extremely
distorted but best readable when tuned in NBFM mode. It`s TOMBS and
the mod matches 9930 WTWW, which is only S9 direct and somewhat
undermodulated. At 1502 I email: ``George, Now there is a huge
distorted blob on 9670 or so, TOMBS modulation matching 9930. 9670
audio clearest when tuning in FM mode! That`s 260 kHz below, but there
is no match 260 kHz above which would be 10190, nor anywhere else. I
am sure this is interfering with stations such as Channel 292 in
Germany on 9670. Before and after 10 am CDT. Advise to fix or turn
off. Glenn``

Well, it blox 9670 in N America, but at 1526, UTW is not hearing it,
rather ACI from 9675 China. 9670 blob is S9+10 into Knoxville SDR.
I`ve kept one receiver on 9670, and by 1602 notice that it and 9930
have been turned off, so George apparently got my message.

At 1829 I email him again: ``Checking at 1:23 pm, back on and same as
before. 9670 is actually stronger signal and stronger modulation altho
FM distorted, than 9930 is. Awful. 73, Glenn`` -- that is, 9670 is
S9+25 direct, and 9930 is only S9 and undermodulated. Still the same
at 1927; by a little later, 9670 blob may be reaching Europe. But at
1946, 9670 is gone and 9930 back up to loud & clear (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 385 MCW kHz, Oct 5 at 0635, JBA ND beacon(s), can`t copy
clear call and suspect two mixing. One letter somewhere is L. RNA list
shows only one close enough and possible with an L is: UWL, New Castle
IN, 25 watts. Second most likely is HO, ``Hossy``, Hot Springs AR, 50
watts. I have heard both before. Others in TX, LA, GA, IL less likely,
the IL and LA ones not reported lately, while the others have been in
September, per RNA listings (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 650, Oct 5 at 0042 UT just as I tune in WSM, announces that
tomorrow Oct 5 is its 100th ANNIVERSARY! and will be celebrating that
all day at the Grand Ole Opry. Then I see info from Mike Cooper about
this in the WOR iog:

```From Fayfare's Opry Blog:
``On Sunday October 5, WSM Radio will celebrate its 100th anniversary.
In addition to the annual Opry Community Day, which will include an
Opry Plaza Party and Opry House tours that will be free to Tennessee
residents, there will be a very special Sunday Night Opry that will
honor WSM that evening. The show will feature each of the WSM air
personalities, along with Opry members Dailey & Vincent, Ketch Secor
and Pam Tillis. Also on the schedule are Charlie Worsham, Elizabeth
Cook, Tommy Emmanual, Chuck Mead and Chris Scruggs and The Stone Fox
Five. That is shaping up to be a big show.``
Here's an article from Billboard last month about WSM's anniversary:
``WSM Turns 100: How One Nashville Station Leaned on Innovation to
Make
Radio History --- By Tom Roland 9/11/2025
One of the most important storylines in country music in 2025 is the
celebration of the Grand Ole Opry's 100th anniversary. But that
milestone, which arrives Nov. 25, wouldn't exist without another,
earlier centennial: the launch of WSM-AM Nashville on Oct. 5,
1925....`````
** U S A. Re gh 880 Spanish log, previously under UNIDENTIFIED:
``Mauno, your information is correct. KEYH 850 feeds the 105.3
translator. KJOZ 880 is Latino Sports and music, mostly the latter.
The La Mejor format on 104.5 doesn’t have an originating station.
** U S A. 1460, Oct 5 at 0000 UT, partial ID as 1460 and 96.7
Southward?? Of the 62 stations on 1460 in NRC AM Log, not one
correlates with FM on 96.7. But the WTFDA FM DB hits one and it looks
very likely: K244FO relay of KHOJ 1460, Crestwood MO, Covenant Radio,
a Catholic network. KHOJ is in St Charles, U4 12000/210 W, Heart of
Jesus Radio. FCC AMQ still refuses to provide SR/SS tables, but
gaisma.com shows SS today at 2339 UT, and about 2325 by mid-Oct, so
should be on night power and pattern (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1540, Oct 5 at 0050 UT, KEDA, R. Jalapeño ID after
mentioning Linares, which is a town in NL; on N/S antenna only. Is U4
5/1 kW from San Antonio TX. I wonder if the calls allude to ``stay
here with us``? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
** U S A. 1620, Oct 5 at 0054 UT, ``downtown Omaha``, 402 AC phone,
Equitable Bank, 0055 ``1620 the Zone and 101-9 The Keg`` -- i.e. KOOO
101.9 La Vista NE which is an Omaha suburb, 96 kW, with adult hits,
hardly a match for a sports format? 1620 being KOZN Bellevue. They are
at the same address in Omaha itself and both owned by Nrg License Sub,
LLC.
[non] I had remembered there was something new on 1620, altho a bit
too early for it, per Tim Hall in ABDX: ``XECSCGU-1620 Guachochi
CHIHUAHUA September 29, 2025 --- Methinks they finally bought that new
2 kW transmitter they were saving up for; logged them with a pretty
solid signal here at home (south of San Diego) at 0400 UT while
testing some of my new gear last night. They were fighting with
Rebelde and my local HAR. Logged them again just now (1200 UT) on the
Mexican DX Club's SDR putting a good dent in WTAW. So they are
definitely getting out. Format is mostly Spanish contemporary
Christian music (which can sound like any other kind of music —
ranchera, norteña, etc. — you have to listen to the lyrics) and “Creo
Radio” liners. If you want to log an extremely rare 7(!)-letter call,
I'd suggest you try for this one tonight. 73 Tim`` (Glenn Hauser, OK,
