Logs
** BRAZIL. 11780, Aug 29 at 2159, RNB/RNA not off the air but JBA
direct (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 11780, Aug 30 at 0149, token English from RNB/RNA, yet
again repeating snippets about the anniversary of the Parque Rodeador
hi-power SWBC site. S9+10/25 into Bonaire SDR, much better than into
Brasila. 0153 outro that there was an AI voice - so that`s why he was
speaking perfect Amerenglish. Portuguese break then into same in
Spanish, must be another AI, but with a Castilian accent (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 28405+USB, Aug 29 at 2220, PY2FZ, with quick contacts,
spells BAURU, CCI from an LU calling CQDX in English: they probably
can`t hear each other, too close. QRZ.com: ``PY2FZ Brazil flag Brazil,
Helio "Bono" Bono, Avenida Antenor de Almeida, 3-199, Condominio
Chacara Odete, Bauru, SP 17047590, Brazil`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHILE. 28510+USB, Aug 29 at 2207, someone in the 4a región; 2218 ID
as CE2LE, Carlos, contact WX7F, then CQDX. QRZ.com: ``CE2LE Chile flag
Chile, Carlos Aranda Albornoz, PO Box 107, La Serena 1700000, Chile -
Hello friends, now I have a new call sign, CE2LE, very proud to carry
the call sign of my friend and mentor, sergio correa, who is no longer
in this world, a hug. CE2LE ALWAYS AL AIR. Greetings to all my friends
radioperators of the world, my name is Carlos. my city is the Serena,
very nice city whith nice weather, extensive beachs, is located 500 km
north of Santiago capital city, we also have a nice valley (valley
elqui), with the cleanest skies in de world, peace and tranquility. I
work in  mining, I am operator of heavy machinery`` (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 15230, Aug 29 at 2204, RHC Spanish, S9+10 and suptorted but
readable, yay! // 13780 also S9+10 with goodmod, but 2215 recheck,
13780 deadair while 15230 continues. Somethings always wrong at RHC
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 17715, Fri Aug 29 at 2200, REE S9+10/20 still in Spanish, no
English, and also only on very weak 15390 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785.004, Aug 29 at 2159, VOT IS & ID in English, not off
the air, S9+10/20 direct but JBM to undermodulated. At 2244 into
UTwente when measured, S9+25/45, somewhat undermodulated, starting
`Did You Know That`, something about fish migration but I shall not
strain to understand more than 20% of the words emanating from the
larynx of Efsun. 2249 music. 2254 s/off as if 1230 on 17620:
something`s always awry at Ankara. 2254.6 IS. 2256 pause and restart
IS with German IDs: something`s always erroneous at Emirler, until
2258* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2310 monitoring: confirmed Friday
August 29 at 2030 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1322.994, S9+5 into
UTwente - and still no signals on 918 or 207 kHz.

Also confirmed Friday August 29 after 2200 on WRMI 9955. At first
direct it doesn`t sound like me, S9/+10 but very undermodulated. By
2206 seems me; by 2215 am pretty sure.

Also confirmed Friday August 29 at 2243 the 2230 on SW Gold Radio,
Germany, 3975.002-, S7/S9 into UTwente with storm crashes.

** U S A. Pre-`AAAWWW` chex of WBCQs, Aug 29 at 2352, into NH SDR,
which is 50 Hz off compared to WWV 10000, so exact readings have been
corrected: 7490 -55 Hz = 7489.945, S9+20 with FKB. 9330.005, S9+30
WLCR Brazuguese but off for rotation at 2357. 6160 +20 Hz = 6160.020,
S5/S7 with CRI, but BCQ on by 2356 with IS & ID loop, S9+15/20 and
0000 into something else. 5130 by 2357 somebuzz not BCQ still past
0000. 3265 totally off.

UT Sat Aug 30 at 0000 announces that following AAAWWW was originally
broadcast March 28, 2025 - never mind, see my log on that date. Now
joined by 9330 only. On Thu Aug 28, Allan said ``listen tonight`` for
more about the ``Laser Broadcast System`` he had been publicizing, but
I assumed he really meant Friday night - not. Did anyone hear him with
any new/live info about that? Anything on his X? (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 252 kHz, my JBA carrier where no beacons are likely,
could well be the 750 kW broadcaster in ALGERIA, I have just realized.
I have so little luck with any LWBC DX that I didn`t even consider
that: ``252 kHz, Aug 27 at 0357 UT, LW beaconscan hits only one
unusual, 252 kHz; trouble is, dxinfocentre.com shows only two
possibilities, in SC and NS; and RNA list shows none anywhere. Now
wondering if I were really tuned to 251 AM but I think not``.  The
remaining active EurAfrican LWs are on: 153, 162, 171, 198, 225, 252.
Gedas in Indiana has been getting 198 and 225. And E Asia = all
Mongolia: 164, 209, 227, per WRTH (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 17435-17470, Aug 29 at 2213, S9 multi-carrier,
multi-tones beating against each other over this approx. range. Often
heard for long time but have not relogged it for quite a while. What
is this? Similar things elsewhere such as circa 9.2 MHz (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

Glenn Hauser logs August 29, 2025  View Printable Version
Friday, August 29 2025

Logs
** FRANCE. 11700 & 13695, Aug 29 at 0636, weak, `hollow` signals in
French as usual from RFI Issoudun. Not clear whether a strike affected
SW; one report about that via Mike Cooper, Aug 25: ``[WOR] indefinite
Radio France strike began today -- A strike of indefinite length has
been launched at Radio France. The trade union CGT Radio France says
negotiations are at a stalemate. The strike date was announced in
July. Stations are broadcasting this announcement:

"En raison d'un appel `a la greve depose par l'ensemble des
organisations syndicales representatives de Radio France contre la
strategie editoriale et les reformes menees par la direction dans un
contexte d'economies, nous ne sommes pas en mesure de diffuser
l'integralite de nos programmes habituels." {sic: accents stripped}

A major point of contention is that the French culture minister wants
to combine France Medias Monde, France Televisions, Radio France and
the National Audiovisual Institute (INA) into one organization with a
single chief executive officer. The plan would also close some radio
stations and cut jobs.

Forty-one of Radio France's 44 radio stations objected this spring to
a proposed new fall schedule. Employees say there have been no
discussions or changes to the proposed schedule, leaving them with the
impression that they are being ignored, according to Benoit Allard, a
technician at Ici Pays d'Auvergne quoted by France 3 Television.

mc`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2310)

** OKLAHOMA. 1210 kHz, Aug 29 at 0706 UT, KGYN Guymon with weather
forecast for Thursday, but it`s already Friday! Maybe only one day out
of date rather than one week the last time. Who cares about being
subservient to WPHT? Radio-locator says 22/10 kW ``non-direxional two
modes`` - whatever that mean; but night pattern supposedly pulled in
toward Philly (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 335 MCW kHz, Aug 29 at 0618 UT, BV, 25 watt NDB from
BatesVille AR, seldom heard; last logged March 7 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

No new financial report this week, not necessarily in US funds via
PayPal to
woradio at yahoo.com

One may also contribute via money order or check on a US bank to:
Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 5850, Aug 29 at 0629, JBA carrier, presumably WRMI-12 on
exciter only? while CRR on 5800 & 5950 are normal; 5850 is habitually
the strongest, aimed thisaway (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 840, Aug 29 at 0704 UT, ID as ``WAMZ HD2 Louisville`` - and
then as WHAS. Unfortunately, WTFDA FMDB does not go into what`s on HD
subchannels; adding all that would be a monumental task; but now we
know about this one:
``WAMZ 97.5 LOUISVILLE KY 100.0 kW 205.0 m 38-03-50 85-43-52 HD 15F9
Country 97.5  WAMZ     97.5 WAMZ Kentuckiana's #1 for Country
KENTUCKIANA'S BEST COUNTRY 11921``
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1000 kHz, Aug 29 at 0653 UT, some kind of countdown of
greatest moments in baseball? with crowds roaring, all over KTOK OKC
with `C2CAM`. Presumably WMVP Chicago with ESPN, mentions Q105FM,
presumably not an ID for this. WTFDA FMDB does not find any sports
format with that slogan. Only other sports/ESPN on 1000 is KSOO Sioux
Falls, 100 watts at night while WMVP is U4 50/37 kW, night pattern
with notch to the SW, but minor lobe to SSW. Then heard same
crowdroaring on 930, i.e. WKY OKC also with ESPN (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 1110 kHz, Aug 29 at 0653 UT, dead air! from KFAB instead of
`C2CAM`; still dead at 0657, 0701 and 0707. No one`s awake at a major
clear-channel station in Omaha. If no one in charge is listening to
their own station, now can they expect anyone else to? And what about
``making good`` on missing commercials, or am I the only one who
noticed? Slight othersig audible underneath (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1140 kHz, Aug 29 at 0652 UT, ``Real Country 100.1 FM and
1140 AM, KXRB``. It`s Sioux Falls SD, U2 10/5 kW and guess what? 100.1
is *not* a mere translator, but a hefty 2.15 kW KXRB-FM in Brandon SD,
which is just east of SxF closer to the IA/MN/SD tri-state area. 1140
night pattern has a notch to the SW, but a minor lobe toward Yankton,
and us? ND day pattern would be better (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1180 kHz, Aug 29 at 0700 UT, KZOT ID,
``Bellevue-Omaha-Council Bluffs`, still cheating at night U4 25/1 kW.
Council Bluffs should be first as site is there in IOWA, NOT NEBRASKA
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1200 kHz, Aug 29 at 0641 UT, ``Bólivar station 102.9`` is
atop WOAI; do they care? NRC AM Log shows KYOO Bolivar MO is a 1 kW ND
DAYTIMER! with K275CD, ``Joy 102.9``. Bólivar is just north of
Springfield. Since they pronounce it that way, is it not named for
Simón? Not exactly per Wikipedia:

``The name "Bolivar" was proposed by John Polk Campbell and his
brothers William St. Clair and Ezekiel Madison. It is named after
Bolivar, Tennessee, where their grandfather and Continental Army
Colonel Ezekiel Polk had lived. In the 1830s, Polk and Bolivar names
were locally associated with liberation. As such, Bolivar, Missouri is
an indirect namesake of Simón Bolívar.[9]`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

disclaimer on mywriting
https://linktr.ee/zliangas all my pages

From now and for an unknown time, at least for 3years, I will not use any radio except the remote SDRs for DXing. Recently wemoved from the village back to the city in a space that prohibits the use ofdesktop DXing, a place flooded by high levels of noise in the LMHF bands. Theradio is now used mostly for FM, for news listening.we run politically livelycondition with always very interesting twits every day ..
