Logs
** BRAZIL. 11780, April 3 at 0148, RNA with hyperenthusiastic coverage
of a stupid ballgame; don`t hear any crowd noise, so is this live or a
recap. Rather late at night to be live. Keeps mentioning Botafogo,
which is the big ``fireboot`` Rio soccer team. This keeps going past
0200 instead of new token English/Spanish 0150-0200 which we did hear
the previous two nights. So now we know how serious they were about
that!

Richard Langley also reports: ``Based on a few words I
heard/translated, perhaps it was Chile's Universidad de Chile against
Brazil's Botafogo at National Stadium in Santiago, Chile for a Copa
Libertadores Group A soccer match. And off at 0208 UT. Too bad if you
wanted to listen to the whole game on SW`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF
RADIO 2289)

** EAST TURKISTAN. 17735, April 3 at 1447, JBA carrier is OOFSOB. EiBi
shows CRI Mandarin to Europe via Kashgar. 15590, April 3 at 1454, CRI
English via Urumqi discussing blueberry mania, S9+15/20 the SSOB
except for 15150 WMLK. From the land of imperialist ChiCom cultural
genocide against Uighurs and other Moslems (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 89.1, April 3 around 1935 UT, listening to some $ tereo
music while dozing, Christian but tolerably instrumental, until DJ
says he is from WOFM in Canton - something ?? The real WOFM is on 89.1
but in Alcoa TN with Air 1, no known connexion to Oasis Network
originating with KNYD 90.5 Tulsa, here via Enid translator K206CA.
This local quality signal was surely not DX from TN altho possible by
Es if K206CA were off. There is also a Canton in OK with no stations
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 15500, April 3 at 2130 check, RNE 15500 for NAm is still
OFF, but 15390 for Af is back on JBA; 17715 SAm and 15520 ME are
sufficient but no English on Thursdays (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF
RADIO 2289)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2288 monitoring: confirmed UT
Thursday April 3 at 0130 on WRMI 5010, S9+10/25 with storm crashes
into Georgia SDR; preceded at 0128 by mentions of R. República,
drumming, extraneous? RR not really scheduled then. Also some
intermittent CCI, maybe from SDR overload.

Also confirmed Thursday April 3 at 1652 on SW Radio, Germany,
6160.001+, S7/9+12 into UTwente, and 3975 not yet on.

WORLD OF RADIO 2289 contents: A25 schedule sources; (Algeria),

America, Romania, Russia, (Slovenia), Spain, (Taiwan), Turkey, UK and

Financial support appreciated for our non-commercial public
service program: thanks for a contribution via check on a US bank from
Moises Corilloclla, Rego Park NY, to Glenn Hauser, P O Box 1684, Enid
OK 73702, and says, ``Hello, Glenn, I wanted to thank you for the nice
mentions on your recent World of Radio programs, and I look forward to
bringing new or interesting things that I may find while scanning the
bands (altho that is quite small considering the years you have been
DXing). I plan to visit Peru this year as well, and I hope I can
provide a bandscan of other areas or cities, if I happen to travel
around. Wish you the best, Moises Corilloclla``

One may also contribute via PayPal, not necessarily in US funds, to
woradio at yahoo.com
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7780, April 3 at 0632, this WRMI-13 is OFF. and at 0635, so
is 5010 WRMI-14. All others nominal. These would both normally be on
TOMBS at this hour: tech problems, or reduxion in TOMBS $ $ /hours?
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2289)

** U S A. 15134, 15138, 15142, 15146; 15154, 15158, 15162, 15166,
April 3 at 1448, galaxy of spurs every ~4 kHz above and below 15150
WMLK, S9+25/35 with Yahweh stuff. They cut on and off with modulation
peaks, JBA at the edges but quite strong closest to 15150. Something`s
very busted at Bethel`s new 300 kW transmitter (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WORLD OF RADIO 2289)

** U S A. 4840, April 3 at 0635, this WWCR-3 is unusually OFF, due to
storms? However, at 0633, 5890 is on with TOMBS despite it being a
weekday, // 5850 WRMI, singing ``Marching to Zion``. 5890 shows up
occasionally on `wrong` overnights.

Then day frequency of WWCR-3, 13845 is also OFF at 1457, still off
past 1500 and 1615, while 9980 & 12160 are blasting in. By 1831, 13845
still off, 9980 also off as scheduled, leaving only 12160 on. Since
WWCR-1 service was discontinued voluntarily, if that transmitter and
antenna still be funxional, why couldn`t they apply those to the
WWCR-3 13845/4840 schedule?

April 3 at 1446, Ron Trotto-WDX4KWI, Virden, Illinois, reported, ``I
noticed last night WWCR was off the air on all frequencies around 0530
UT. I checked 650 WSM they were on and off. Wondering if everyone is
OK in the Nashville area of Tenn`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO
2289)

** U S A. 9930, April 3 at 1832, WTWW is on but only S7/S9 instead of
usual blasting. Propagation? Altho 12160 WWCR is blasting, other 9 MHz
UStations are also very weak to JBA carriers, 9395, 9330, 9265 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** VENEZUELA [and non]. 60 meter band vacant! of any SW broadcasters,
beyond WWV, April 3 at 0635, NO: 4840 WWCR, NO Estacion 4940, NO 5010
WRMI, NO 5025 CUBA (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 15470, April 3 at 1452, S5/S7 of dead air, off by 1458.
Nothing listed for A25 now in Aoki but EiBi & HFCC have only IRAN in
Dari at 0920-1250. IRIB has been reported elsewhen with dead air
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

Logs
MAJOR A25 SHORTWAVE SCHEDULES
now linked from WOR homepage
http://www.worldofradio.com

** AZORES. 17946 USB, April 2 at 2214, selcall tones and ATC contact
mentioning Santa Maria, so probably there among many others on
frequency over N Atlantic and Canadian Arctic routes, per Klingenfuß
2022 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 11780.009, April 2 at 0149, RNA with another English
segment, S9/+10 into Georgia SDR, part 2 of last night`s interview
with culture minister of Pará state, something about urbanity, forests
and islands. This time the original sound seems faded down completely
during English translation, once ``established``. 0154 Brazuguese ID,
then same in Spanish with Brazilian accent. 0158 outro, s/off of 6180
& 11780, ref to web and MW 980 and off* by 0200 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CHINA. 13690, April 2 at 2218, S9+10/20 with heavy flutter,
hi-pitched singing, Chinese? announcement, then definitely Spanish.
HFCC shows CRI at 2100-2300, 500 kW, 315 degrees from SZG site =
Shijiazhuang, which is just SW of Beijing per WRTH map, to CIRAF 37NW
= Spain (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FRANCE. 9605-9610-9615, April 2 at 0607, DRM noise at S9+25. HFCC
shows irregular from TDF ISS, two different entries at 06-07, both
expiring 010625 = 1 June instead of entire A25 season to 261025: 100
kW, 280 degrees for CIRAF 27W = British Isles; and 100 kW, 232 degrees
for CIRAF 36,37W,46W = W Africa and adjacent Atlantic (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** FRANCE. 21705-21710-21715, April 2 at 1455, DRM noise is the OSOB.
HFCC shows TDF ISS at 0500-1700, 150 kW at 110 degrees to CIRAFs
44SW,49NE,49S,50,54 = SE Asia (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6935 AM, April 1 at 2344, pirate music JBA vs HNL.
These say it`s Thunder Chicken Radio:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,142979.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 1670 kHz, April 2 at 1942 UT, Virtual DJ Radio low-power
relay circa junxion of US81 & US412 in Enid, on the air as always,
playing `Ghost Riders in the Sky` and then `Big John` (Glenn Hauser,
Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 95.1 FM, April 2 at 1900 UT, FINALLY, dead air in $ tereo
is off the air in downtown Enid; carrier was still running as of a few
days ago, more than 3 months after Xmas with music to accompany OG&E`s
`tree of lights` just north of the Garfield County courthouse. Now the
coast is clear for CP of KOKJ-LP on 95.1, altho I have not heard
anything from the guy behind it as to progress. If, that is, the other
95.1, stay gone (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** SPAIN. 15500 & 15390, April 2 at 2159, again today, 50% of REE
transmitters are missing; but 17715 for S America is VG direct,
S9+10/20 but seems slightly overmodulatedistorted, better than 15520
for ME at S8/9+10. Again opens with A25 overall sked but no language
details. 2202 preview feature something about Extremadura. 2203 news
opens with EU reaxion to Drumpf tariffs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. Fixing `2354` time typo in this April 1 item; proofread!:
11785.002, next VOT English of 2200 is not off the air, not checked
until 2234 April 1, S9+5/10 into Maryland SDR, with feature voiced by
Efsun the axentuated. Considerably weaker than 11780 Brasil, S9+10/25
providing ACI, not even evitable by USB tuning. 2254 s/off as if it
were 1230 on 17620, the usual always awry at Ankara (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** TURKEY. 17815, April 2 at 1457, Turkish talk, music at S5/S7. HFCC
shows 1300-1600 TRT, 250 kW, 310 degrees for CIRAF 27,28 = W and C
Europe; and USward beyond (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9875.003-, April 2 at 2032, VOT VG S9+25/35; but some
choral CCI from Korea North underaudible at 2037. Not going back to
9870 as on March 30? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11784.999, April 2 at 2158, VOT IS & ID in English,
S9+10/12 direct vs S8/9 noise level, unlistenable. At 2241 into
UTwente, when measured, surprisingly not solid at all, S9/+10 with
flutter; skipping over? So trying NH SDR, showing 11785.006, S9+20/35
much better with music. 2248 break in carrier for a few sex. 2253
s/off as if it`s 1230 on 17620, awry at Ankara, IS to 2255.5* (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 28222+ CW, April 2 at 204, dash and VVV DE W1DLO/B
alternating slow and fast rates. WGB list: ``28221.5 W1DLO/B - Calais
ME USA FN65je - #0/1/2 (31 Mar 2025) Note: VVV de ID + grid + Calais
Maine + 9" carrier``. QRZ.com: ``W1DLO USA flag USA, Daniel L Owen, 27
Roundstone Dr, Glenburn, ME 04401-1209, USA``, with huge list of
equipment and: ``10m CW propagation beacon``:
http://qsl.net/w1dlo/beacon
including 10 watts, 20 and 5 wpm. I really think it was slightly above
28222, not below (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2288 monitoring: ``Richard Lemke,
St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, From the desk of Richard’s listening
Post, Radio: JRC NRD-535 HF (30 years of service), Antenna: random
long wires in the trees. WRMI, USA, World of Radio #2288, 9395 kHz,
QRN, 2330 (45433), below S7 signal; very unsettled (45433), S6, S7,
voice heard at any ID pulling out difficult, much better at 2359,
voice heard, April 1 UTC 2025 [Wed] (Lemke, Richard -AB)``

Confirmed Tuesday April 1 at 2334 the 2330 on WRMI 9395, S9+20/30
direct including noise level.

Missed checking same time on SW Radio, Germany, 3975; anyone hear
it?

Confirmed Wednesday April 2 at 1930 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975.002-,
S8/9+5 into UTwente.

Also confirmed Wednesday April 2 at 2100 on WBCQ 7490 -77 Hz =
7489.923, S9/+10 into Maryland SDR. Next:

0130 UT Thursday WRMI 5010 to S;
1630 UT Thursday SW Radio, Germany 3975.

Financial support appreciated for our non-commercial public service
program: thanks for a contribution from Philip Erickson, ``for support
of SWL and WOR from a listener since 1977``, via PayPal in US funds
but not necessarily, to woradio at yahoo.com

One may also contribute via MO or check on a US bank to: Glenn Hauser,
P O Box 1684, Enid OK 73702 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9917 & 9943 approx., parasitic spurs from huge WTWW 9930
signal with TOMBS, not measured precisely but just like happens around
5085 when it`s active, supposedly two different transmitters (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9265, April 2 at 2222, WINB is S9+10/20 but JBM (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)
