Glenn Hauser logs April  View Printable Version
Saturday, April 25 2026

Logs
** ARGENTINA [non]. 9455, Fri Apr 24 at 2302, RAE via WRMI in
Portuguese, with dx.com.ar DX program, info compiled by Arnaldo Slaen
for ``current month of November 2022`` !!! - my translation, so
admittedly 3.5-year-old DX OLDS! Why in the world are they
broadcasting such a disservice?! I don`t even bother to copy any
further (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA [non] MONACO [non]. 1467 kHz, Apr 24 at 2324 Pop Shoppe
Radio special, S6/S8 into EA8DF remote at Fuerteventura, Canary
Islands, playing song ``American Woman`` which would seem off-topic?
There is a lite het on the plus side while I am default-tuned in USB,
less than 1 kHz. Not there on LSB, and much stronger reading in AM
mode, S9+10. 2331 program ID; 2341, ``15 before top of hour``;
inviting reception reports. 2354.5 ``shortwave radiogram`` beepery -
shouldn`t that be mediumwave?? By 0007 Apr 25 check, 1467 is off. This
is on the 1000 kW transmitter at Roumoules, FRANCE; I`m sure we all
wonder what a megawatthour of airtime costs, but probably
confidential. Or not! Tony Pavick says, ``I would love to do it again,
but at €430, unless I win the lottery it is a bit out of the question
apart from the occasional use perhaps once or twice a year.``

MWoffsets indicates the het plus is likely IRAN:
1467,0025 F TWR Europe (Roumoules)[1467.002-] 2115-2400
2025-12-22
1467,0033 KOR HLKN KBS1 (Mokpo/Yeongam) 24h 2015-05-31
1467,37 IRN IRIB Radio Qom (Qom) [1466.9630-1467.39] 24h 2025-10-31
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 90.1, Apr 25 at 1150 UT, KUCO during repeat of `Beyond
the Barrier` with IDs for two Wisconsin stations. I could repeat
verbatim my detailed report of March 28, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** PERU. 4810, Apr 25 at 0635, R. Logos presumed JBA, and once again
the FUF Martinique uteblob about 4812 is absent (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 11785.006+, Apr 25 at 2200, VOT English not off
the air, S9+25 into UTwente. May I recommend this!:

https://www.pbs.org/wnet/gperf/now-hear-this-the-call-of-istanbul-about/17630/

``Now Hear This | The Call of Istanbul #5305

Explore the layered sounds of Istanbul where empires met and music
evolved with host Scott Yoo and Turkish musicians from European
classical music to modern jazz.

Istanbul sits at the crossroads of Asia and Europe, a melting pot of
diverse peoples, languages and ideas. With star Turkish pianist Fazil
Say, conductor Çem Mansur, and a host of Anatolian folk and Turkish
jazz musicians, Scott Yoo and his wife, flutist Alice Dade, explore
the city`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2344 monitoring: confirmed Friday
April 24 at 2200 on WRMI 9955, S9+10/15 into Bonaire where it`s
aimed.

Also confirmed Friday April 24 at 2231 the 2230 on SW Radio Gold,
Germany, 3975.001+, S9+5 into UTwente.

Also confirmed UT Saturday April 25 at 0300 on WTWW 5085, which was on
the air as early as 0130, while it has been missing last nights, for a
week? At 0258 `Ancient Word Radio` with `Truth 2 Ponder` wrapping up,
S9/+10 into NH SDR; 0259 ID for 100 kW each on 9475 & 5085, altho day
frequency 9475 has not been on air for months. 0300 rough start for
WOR 2344 as ``the ministry of...`` and WOR opening twice. Then all
seems OK, but I recheck at 0320 just as there is an overlap and WOR
*starts over* from the beginning. Now it`s S9+50 direct and can barely
detect the parasitic spurs plus/minus 12.9 kHz on 5072.1 and 5097.9.
Fortunately they keep it going until completed at 0350 ID, minute of
silence and off at 0351*

Also confirmed Saturday April 25 at 1455 the 1430 on SW Radio Gold,
Germany, 6160.013-, S9/+5 into UTwente. Next week this airing expected
to be pre-empted by TRSW.

Glenn Hauser logs April 23-24, 2026  View Printable Version
Friday, April 24 2026

Logs
** BRAZIL. 15145, Apr 23 at 2024, S7 music // 11780, so RNA is back
after missing a few days from this new frequency, as I mention on WOR
2344; but by 2145 it had shifted to 15150, per Ron Howard, and stayed
there until 0201*. They better not use it when WMLK is on our
mornings.

By 0750 Apr 24 I happen to awaken so check for token English, indeed
on 6180 and weaker 11780 but nothing on 15145 or 15150, about a
musician/composer born on April 23. At 1050 I am awake again, when
there is heavy QRM but seems still Brasuguese; 1050 was originally
reported as another English/Spanish repeat time (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 11760, April 24 at 0558, RHC with S9 of dead air; also 9710,
S8/S9 of dead air. Something`s always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** FRANCE. 6115-6120-6125, Apr 24 at 0604, DRM noise S9+27. Nothing in
HFCC, Aoki or EiBi, but as TDF 0530-0630 here:
https://www.drmrx.org/drm-broadcasts-bargraph-display/
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** JAPAN. 17790, April 24 at 0554, Japanese at S5/S7. It`s the new NHK
service for CIRAFs 10 & 11 = Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, 300
kW, 55 degrees from Yamata at 0500-0700 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MALI. 5995, April 24 at 0600, ORTM not off the air, S9+10 of
chanting (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Early UT Friday April 24 we were watching tornado reports
in adjacent counties to the north, Grant and Kay, but by 0100 UT
another tornado area was approaching Enid. The major OKC TV stations
were on it continuously. NOAA Weather Radio - NWR Enid station on ``ch
4``, WXL48, 162.475 MHz was already knocked off the air = no signal
into our C Crane Skywave SSB2, still off the next morning,
https://www.weather.gov/nwr/outages
but must have come back on circa 15 UT. While it was off there was
dead air on ``ch 5``, not sure where that is.

I was too busy getting WORLD OF RADIO finished and dispatched, and
keeping up with tornado warnings, to survey storm coverage on FM
stations relaying different OKC TV stations, as I did during a
previous outbreak not threatening us.

The tornado path was on the south/SE side of Enid, while we are in the
NW quadrant. We did descend to our storm cellar for a while just in
case. Thanks to everyone who inquired if we are OK. Some 40 homes in a
neighborhood just east of Vance AFB were demolished, as you may have
seen on national news coverage, but there were no fatalities. After a
respite Saturday, more of this is expected Sunday (Glenn Hauser, Enid,
WOR)

** SPAIN. 15500, Fri Apr 24 at 2021, REE in Arabic, to North America!
Also 15520 to ME where it might be more useful (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2344 monitoring: confirmed first SW
BC, Friday April 24 at 1313 the 1300 on WRMI 15770, S7 direct.

Not confirmed Friday April 24 at 2056 the 2030 on IRRS SW via AM
Italia, 1323 kHz into UTwente, rather music. But *is* on the NEXUS/IBA
stream. What gives? And they merge at 2100 for timesignal and FSN.

Glenn Hauser logs April 23, 2026; World of Radio 2344  View Printable Version
Friday, April 24 2026

Logs
** BRAZIL. 15145 RNA back on air circa 21 UT Apr 23 after missing Apr
21 and 22 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MALI. 5995, Apr 23 at 0629, no signal again from ORTM.

Also from Ron Howard: ``The situation in Mali and Bamako seems to be
very bad, per this travel advisory -
https://travel.gc.ca/destinations/mali
Last updated: April 20, 2026 10:23 ET:

Avoid all travel to Mali due to the threat of terrorism, kidnapping,
banditry and fuel shortages. If the security situation in Mali
deteriorates, the ability of the Embassy of Canada to Mali, in Bamako,
to provide consular services may be limited.

Security situation and fuel shortages: The security situation remains
unpredictable and could deteriorate further. Since September 2025,
terrorist groups have intensified their attacks, targeting fuel
tankers and setting up roadblocks on
major supply routes. This blockade has led to severe fuel shortages,
causing a reduction in essential services, long lines at gas stations
and transportation difficulties.

The entire country, including Bamako, remains vulnerable to terrorist
threats and the risk of kidnapping.

Shortages - Power outages occur regularly across the country and can
last more than 8 hours. Not all buildings have generators. Power
outages could impact essential services, such as: the public water
supply, telecommunications, banking transactions.

A state of emergency is currently in effect throughout Mali.
Heightened security measures are in place, including random
identity checks and roadblocks. Carry identification and follow the
instructions of local authorities at all times.``

23-04, 0545-0625, out of the air`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

that, Ron Howard: ``April 23 - YHWH again off frequency on the low
side just like yesterday, about 7474.9, at 0510 UT. Checked earlier,
but he was off the air. Ron`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
